UPDATE - 12-30-02 - I wanted to tell Neil about Gen's last hunt. I took her to a preserve where they placed 8 groups of three birds in a large field. Not only did she find and hold perfectly all 8 groups, but she found all the shot birds, including the ones she didn't see drop. She's all business out there; I couldn't be happier. She's a good one! Will Ferrell, Richmond, Va. (Kate/Blue litter 2002)

12-04-02 - I have to tell you how customer friendly, thorough and impressive your product is. You and Neil make a great team. Your patience when walking me through the puppy stages and knowledge of training them is unmatched. As for Neil, he truly has a proven method. I still can't believe how much Gen learned in the short time she was there for training. I figured she had a good capacity for learning, but nothing like that. - Will Ferrell, Richmond, Va. (Kate/Blue litter 2002)

UPDATE - 9-08-02 - Since I last E-mailed you, April has come a long way. She's really beginning to trust us. She hardly ever bites when we rub her stomach or pick her up. She loves being cuddled which she gets alot of from all of us. She'll even lay on the couch with us and stay still for a while and watch TV. Her commands are coming along. She does "Sit" real well. She knows lay down, come eat your food, but she still doesn't always come when you call her. We're working on that. There are fewer accidents. If she needs to relieve herself at a time that is not when we normally take her out, she'll bark at the back door. I think she's finally getting it! Rose Marie Paruka, Orange, CN. (Kate/Blue litter 2002)

8-06-02 - I finally have some free time and thought I would drop you line about April. She's been doing good. She's getting longer and taller by the minute. She's a real cutie!! I think she will be bigger than my current English Setter, Shelby. The two dogs get along okay but April tends to get rowdy and Shelby doesn't like that. When April manages to be more calm and just lay with Shelby, Shelby will actually lick her. It's sometimes hard to remember that April is still just a baby and has a lot to learn. Heather has taught her to sit, come and stay. She loves to play catch with this small stuffed football we got her. The only problem is getting her to drop it (give it to you) when she brings it back to you. Rich is working on that part. She stays in her kennel in the kitchen most of the time and has yet to relieve herself in there. We take her out every time we take her out of the kennel and immediately after each meal and she does her thing. After she's been playing for a while, we'll say "Want to go Out" and she's starting to realize what that means and will go to the back door. She's very affectionate in the morning after a long night's sleep and is excited to see us. She comes right up to you and puts her paws on your shoulders for some hugs. She does that every time you take her out of her kennel after being in there for a while. She lays on her back often and wants you to rub her stomach. The only thing I don't remember about having a puppy since it's been too long, is the biting they do sometimes. Sometimes when you try to pick her up to put her in her kennel, she'll turn her head and try to bite. She does that when you rub her stomach at times. My husband says she thinks you want to play and it's all part of the teething process. We do correct her by saying "No Bite" or "NO". He says that there's a trust that has to be developed over time so that she'll realize that you're not going to hurt her or do something she doesn't like. I've been taking pictures so as soon as I finish the film, I will send you some. Rose Marie Paruka, Orange, CN. (Kate/Blue litter 2002)

7-15-02 - We are so pleased with Max. He is truly sweet and is loved by everyone at our ranch and at our plant. I don't know if I mentioned this before, but I bring Max and our female dog, Sally, to work with me each day. I built a 35' X 75" stone wall garden outside of my office for the dogs. I even put in a little swimming pool for them! At the ranch, he takes long walks with my husband and me each evening. He is too young yet to run along with me when I ride my mare, but I believe that by fall he may be able to go on short jaunts with us. This puppy just fits in beautifully in our lives and we feel so blessed to have him as a member of our family. Dinah Wagoner, Pottsboro, Tx. (Kate/Blue litter 2002)

6-5-02 She is wonderful! We couldn't have asked for a better puppy. I think we have been very fortunate with our other dog and the new puppy. She did fine in the car and adjusted to her new home very well. Our other setter had a hard time leaving his family, but she seemed to handle the transition very well. She is so playful and seems to be a very smart dog. She is getting to the bitting stage but seems to understand "no" very well. Thank you so much for all of the advice and help you have given us. It was very nice meeting you also and having someone that could answer our questions for us. You have been a great help to us and we appreciate your tips and concerns very much. If we have any questions we will be sure to get in touch with you. Just e-mail us anytime you want to know how she is doing and we will be glad to let you know. Thank you again for all of your help.
